Journaling has been practiced by prominent people all over the world from different walks of life, such as J.K. Rowling, Frida Kahlo, Oprah Winfrey, and Emma Watson. So, what is exactly journaling? Not only it is a place to reflect, to keep important thoughts, and to sort out clutters. But also it is a map that helps us to gain clarity where we’ve been and guide us to get somewhere we intend to go in our lives.

I have heard and read a hundred times about the value of journaling and yet life keeps getting in the way that I never took action for years. (as I write the last sentence, I know that it is just an excuse and justification that I made to make myself feels better).

I have been staying at home for the whole 6 weeks due to the Coronavirus Outbreak. And… what happened when a person got a lot of time in his hand? OVERTHINKING!! I have been struggling with my emotionally sensitive trait as the unnecessary negative self-talk, anxiety, and fear keep coming. Being an HSP (I guess this topic will come out more regarding “highly sensitive person”), it is emotionally exhausted as I unwillingly keep playing unfavorable events over and over in my mind into anxious thoughts. This mind of mine keeps messing me up and when is the better time if not now to start journaling?! Therefore, here I am writing this at 3:40 AM challenging myself to start writing and journaling for the next month.

“Writing in a journal reminds you of your goals and of your learning in life. It offers a place where you can hold a deliberate, thoughtful conversation with yourself.” — Robin Sharma
